Experience in detail
Visit the Oldtown area and the old city romanesque and gothic underground from the 12th and 13th century and even older with a tour guide. During the restless decades of the 13th century when the city walls and fortifications of the former old town have been built, the streets of Prague were buried using the trashes and leftover materials after that constructions and mainly in order to prevent the flooding of the town by at that time a much wilder Vltava river. So the former level of the streets was much lower at that time than it is today…
Tour through the hidden rooms, corridors, cellars up to 2 floors beneath the ground and listen to the 1000 years of history of the town. Many times rebuilt, forgotten, and again discovered. Hear interesting facts from the past and also about the floods of 2002 and 2013.
These historical undergrounds give an insight into the past, unknown facts, secrets, and relations and give a picture of life in medieval times. You will see the historical expositions, the secret alchemist laboratory and you will learn about medieval torture and executions down in the Dungeon.
