Handmade miniature depicting the famous Prague Castle, specifically St. Vitus Cathedral, is a great souvenir from Prague.
The miniature depicts the Cathedral of St. Vitus, Wenceslas and Vojtěch (abbreviated, according to the original dedication, to St. Vitus Cathedral), which is the most important Czech Roman Catholic church and the dominant feature of Prague Castle. The Gothic cathedral, the spiritual symbol of the Czech state, was founded in 1344 on the site of the original Romanesque rotunda. The first builder was Matthias of Arras until 1352, followed by twenty-three-year-old Petr Parléř, who directed the construction and decoration until his death in 1399. Many other builders were involved in the construction, which lasted almost 600 years and was finally completed in 1929.
