What to Expect
OVERVIEW
Take a 7-hour journey through Prague’s WWII history with this in-depth tour focused on Operation Anthropoid and the Czechoslovak resistance. Led by an expert guide, you’ll visit important wartime sites, starting with the village of Lidice, which was destroyed by the Nazis in retaliation for the assassination of Reinhard Heydrich. At the Lidice museum and memorial, you’ll learn the tragic story of the village.
The tour also includes a visit to Ďáblice Cemetery, where victims of WWII and Communist repression are buried, and the Kobylisy shooting range, where members of the resistance were executed. You’ll stop at Heydrich’s Curve, the site of the 1942 assassination, and the “Girl with Bicycle” monument, which honors a young resistance supporter.
The tour continues with a visit to St. Cyril and Methodius Cathedral, where Heydrich’s assassins made their final stand, followed by the National Memorial to the Heroes of the Heydrich Terror. Here, you’ll explore the crypt where the final battle took place. With a mix of walking and driving and a traditional Czech meal near Ďáblice Cemetery, this tour offers an unforgettable look into one of WWII’s most significant acts of resistance.
