Overview

Enjoy the unusual show of the IMAGE theater, which has been a permanent platform member of a unique Czech genre of black theatre. It combines the precise techniques of black theatre, dance, and pantomime in its own, unique way. The theater usually offers a choice of three to four different shows and the repertoire is changed regularly. During its more than 30 years long existence it has entertained millions of viewers on its Prague stages and with the same success performed thousands of shows at international festivals and tours throughout the world.

The performance Afrikania tells a story about a meeting of a married couple during their exotic holiday with a postman who finds himself unexpectedly in the position of a reception clerk of an abandoned hotel. The story blends together with impressive images of the region Afrikania, full of varied animal kinds to which the newest black theatre technique, non-traditional costumes, and professional dancing performances breathe into life. Theatre design inspired by nature and the projection surrounding the spectator put the finishing touches to the atmosphere of this fantasy world, to which we invite you for a non-traditional trip.
