Experience in detail
A fairy tale cruise through the picturesque Devil's Channel is one of the most romantic cruises that you can experience in Prague. You will be surrounded by beautiful medieval homes that seem to grow right out of the water and listen to the clatter of the mill wheel as in days gone by.
The Devil's Channel is a picturesque man-made channel on the western side of the Vltava river in Prague. It was created by the Knights Hospitaller in the Middle Ages. The channel is 740 m long and the construction of the canal has created an artificial island in Prague, called Kampa. The purpose of the canal was to provide regulated water flow for the mills that would be built along its course. Three of those watermills have survived to this day and you will see them during the cruise. You will see the Grand Priory Mill - the most famous of the preserved mills, during the cruise.
The houses along the Devil´s Channel stand right by the river, which gave the channel the name Prague Venice. The origin of the present name Devil´s Channel (in Czech Čertovka) is unclear. A legend has it, that it is because of a woman of devilish nature, who used to live nearby, at the Maltese Square. In fact, the place was probably called after the house “At the Seven Devils”, standing there. Several famous movies were shot there and around it, for example, Mission Impossible or Amadeus.
The regular cruises on the Devil's Channel are operated on the ecological boat the Elvíra, Mistr Jan Hus, our small mahogany boats, or the solar boat the Elektronemo.
The boats are in operation all year round. In winter or inclement weather the cruise is operated on the covered and heated Elektronemo. Depending on the conditions and level of the water, a cruise of the channel may not be offered.

Feedbacks
Moc Vám děkujeme a přejeme hodně spokojených zákazníků.????????????????????
Compliments for the captain: he speaks very understandable English! With a microphone he would have been even better to understand acoustically! The only minus point was: our boat tour did not started an hour later due to so-called technical problems. Our next item on the programme was unfortunately delayed.
příjemný výlet
